Locutorium is an online journal dedicated to discussions about the teaching of first-year composition. As its title suggests, Locutorium is a place where such discussion freely occur, with the ultimate goal of enhancing teaching and learning in Writing 150, Writing and Rhetoric, at Brigham Young University. The papers published here are produced by first- and second-year graduate instructors, range from the practical to the theoretical, and address all aspects of the teaching of writing. Although the papers address topics relating to the teaching of writing generally and are of interest to all writing teachers, the journal is particularly committed to publishing papers that engage issues especially relevant to graduate instructors and the teaching of Writing 150. Beginning with volume 4, Locutorium also includes descriptions of experimental courses proposed and taught by graduate instructors.
Locutorium is published annually by the University Writing office at Brigham Young University.
