Submissions for Locutorium are solicited annually and are due in the University Writing office by 5 p.m. on September 15th.
Submissions should:
- address some aspect of the teaching of first-year composition, and may range from the practical to the theoretical;
- adhere to MLA documentation and formatting guidelines;
- and be no more than 10-15 pages in length.
Contributors should include a cover letter identifying the title of their paper along with two copies of their paper with name removed.
Papers are peer reviewed and ranked according to merit. Cash awards are granted for the best three to five papers, which are all published in the volume of Locutorium for that same year. Contributors whose papers are selected are also recognized at the English Department Awards Banquet in April.
Only graduate instructors at Brigham Young University who are currently teaching Writing 150 or taught during the previous fall semester are allowed to submit papers.
